And don’t even get me started on them famous people. Mercan’s got a whole bunch of ’em. Singers, actors, all them. They’re on the TV, in the movies, on that interweb thing. My grandkids, they know all their names. I can’t keep up. But being famous, it ain’t all it’s cracked up to be. You are like an animal in a cage. They are always watching what you do. It must be hard to always being watched.

Or if a famous actor says somethin’, everyone starts believin’ it. It’s kinda scary, ain’t it? These celebrities, they have a way of getting people’s attention. That’s for sure.
And then there’s this whole buying stuff thing. Mercans, they love to buy stuff. Clothes, gadgets, you name it. They see it on the TV or on that interweb, and they gotta have it. They say it is their nature to buy things. It’s like they can’t help themselves. Maybe it’s ’cause they got so much money. I don’t know.

They also go on tours and many many fans go to their concerts. They are really big.
You know what else is getting popular? That country music. More and more people are listening to it. It is like in the old days. There must be something about that country music. Maybe it reminds people of the old days. Maybe people are tired of all the new kind of music.

And it’s spreading, too. Like a weed, it’s popping up everywhere. You can’t escape it. Not that you’d want to, I guess. There’s some good stuff in there, mixed in with all the rest. You just gotta know where to look.
It’s like a big ol’ pot of stew, this Mercan thing. Lots of different flavors, some good, some bad. But it’s all there, simmerin’ away. And it ain’t goin’ nowhere anytime soon. That much is for sure. It keeps changing all the time. What is popular today might not be popular tomorrow. But one thing is for sure, Mercan will always be interesting. There is always something new.
