Okay, here’s my blog post about “Riga Football”, written from a personal experience perspective, using simple language and basic HTML tags:

So, I’ve been getting into this “Riga Football” thing lately. It all started when I was looking for a new way to, you know, get some exercise and not just sit around all day. I’m not getting any younger, and my back was starting to complain.
I stumbled upon some local groups playing, I decided to give it a shot. Showing up that first day was kinda nerve-wracking. I hadn’t played any real sports, in like, forever.
My First Steps
I just observed them, they moving like professional, I just stand and watch.
- Watched a couple of games. Just stood on the sidelines, trying to figure out the rules and not look too lost.
- Tried some easy warm up, I feel good that time.
Then the most important thing is, find someone to teach me how to kick, how to defend.
Then, I try it again and again, it’s really hard to control the direction, most of the time, the ball won’t fly to the place I expected, but don’t give up.

Keep Practicing
It’s not just about kicking a ball, the tactics, how they move as a team, and all that stuff. I mean I watch them play, I begin to learn the detail, how they cooperate.
I’m still pretty terrible, to be honest. My shots go everywhere, I trip over my own feet sometimes, and I’m definitely the slowest guy out there. I’m okay with that, because this is my first time to get in touch a total strange sports. But hey, I’m moving, I’m sweating, and I’m actually having fun. That’s a win in my book.
I’ve even managed to score a couple of goals, totally by accident, of course. It is really a good day. The feeling when the ball actually goes in the net? Pretty awesome, I gotta say.
It’s been a slow process, with lots of, bumps along the way. But I’m sticking with it. And it all start from that first step, watching a game. Maybe next time, I’ll even be brave enough to join a real match. Who knows?
