Okay, so today I was messing around with some baseball data, and I wanted to see if I could pull up that video of Aaron Judge accidentally hitting the umpire. You know, the one where the ball ricochets off the bat and nails the ump? It was a wild moment, and I wanted to relive it.

First, I fired up my go-to sports news sites. I figured one of them would have a highlight reel or something with the clip. I scrolled through a bunch of articles and videos, mostly recent game summaries and player interviews. No luck.
Then I hit up YouTube. Surely, someone had uploaded the clip. I typed in “Aaron Judge hits umpire” and…bam! A whole bunch of videos popped up.
Finding the Right Clip
- I clicked on the first few, but a lot of them were just short, zoomed-in versions.
- I wanted the full context, you know? The pitch, the swing, the whole shebang.
- Saw the umpire get hit.
So, finally I found that perfect one.
It had the entire at-bat, even a slow-motion replay of the ball bouncing off the bat and hitting the umpire. Ouch! But also, kind of amazing, right?
Anyway, that’s how I spent part of my afternoon. Just a little trip down memory lane, fueled by baseball data and a surprisingly elusive video clip.
