Okay, so I’ve been meaning to get out to the Punta Mita Pacifico Golf Course for ages. It’s supposed to be amazing, with that one hole, you know, the one on the island? Yeah, that’s the one I’m talking about. So, I finally booked a tee time and made a whole day of it.

Getting Started
First things first, I packed my bag. Clubs, obviously, balls (lost a few of those, whoops!), sunscreen, hat, the whole nine yards. I made sure to charge my phone too, gotta get those pictures for proof, right?
The drive down there was pretty smooth. I put on some good tunes, rolled down the windows, and just enjoyed the scenery. It’s a beautiful area, so the drive itself was part of the fun.
On the Course
Once I got there, I checked in, grabbed a cart, and headed to the first tee. Warmed up a bit with some practice swings. My first few holes were, uh, not my best. Let’s just say I’m glad I brought extra balls! But hey, that’s golf, right? You have good days and bad days.
But then… I got to that hole. The island green. “Tail of the Whale,”. It’s even more incredible in person. You literally hit your ball over the ocean to this little island green. It’s nerve-wracking, but so cool! I took my time. And, I took a deep breath. I actually made it, I hit it pretty well, and, no joke, it will stay with me.
- Swinging: Focusing on technique.
- Aiming: The island felt miles away.
- Result: I can’t believe it, I nailed it!
I played the rest of the course, and honestly, I was still buzzing from that one hole. The whole course is gorgeous, with ocean views everywhere. It’s definitely a challenge, but so worth it.

Wrapping Up
After I finished, I grabbed some food at the clubhouse. The food was delicious. Perfect end to a perfect day. I chatted with a few other golfers, swapped some stories (mostly about that island hole!), and then headed home.
Overall, it was an awesome experience. If you’re a golfer and you’re in the area, you HAVE to check out the Punta Mita Pacifico course. Just be sure to bring extra balls…and maybe a camera!
