Alright, so I’ve been messing around with some concept liveries, and I decided to tackle the Williams F1 car for 2025. It’s all just for fun, of course, but I wanted to see if I could come up with something cool.

First, I spent some time looking at Williams’ past liveries. You know, checking out the classic white and blue schemes, the ones with the yellow and red accents. Also I needed to understand current F1 trends. I took some notes on things I liked and things I didn’t. I made a list to make it easy.
Brainstorming The Ideas
- Keep the iconic Williams blue – obviously.
- Maybe bring back a bit more white, like some of the older cars.
- Ditch the black,it’s look boring.
- Explore some modern, sharper lines.
- Consider some subtle gradients.
Next step for me was to find a good template of an F1 car. I use my photo editor app on the computer. So I grabbed my pen, starting sketching out some basic ideas. Nothing fancy, just rough outlines to get a feel for the color placement and overall flow.
I spent a good few hours just tweaking things. I’d move a stripe here, change a color there, add a gradient, remove it… it was a lot of trial and error. It’s amazing how small changes can make a big difference. You think one little line won’t matter, and then you move it and suddenly the whole thing looks better…or worse!
After many attempts, I finally landed on something I liked. I went with a predominantly navy blue base, with some bold white sections on the sidepods and front wing. I also incorporated a subtle light blue gradient on the engine cover, just to give it a bit more depth. I decided to keep it pretty clean, without too many sponsor logos cluttering it up.
I have to get the color balance just right. Too much white and it loses that powerful Williams vibe. Too much blue and it becomes too dark. It’s a delicate game!

Finally, I took the design I like most, I am very happy for what I have done. I think it looks pretty slick – modern, but still respectful of Williams’ heritage. Of course, it’s all subjective, but I’m pretty happy with how it turned out.
