Ay, this 2019-20 Fulham, what a year that was. That football team, they had their ups and downs, you know? Just like us folks, some good days, some not so good. This is their 122nd year playing, my goodness! And they were back in that Championship. They got kicked down from the Premier League the year before. Shameful, that!

This Fulham team, they played a lot of games. They call them fixtures. Well, they had plenty of them that year. Win some, lose some. Just like life, I tell ya. They were not in the top dog list no more, they was in the EFL Championship. Not the tippy top, but still a big deal, I reckon.
- They played against a bunch of other teams.
- There was this one time they played that Leeds team.
- You could see the short version of the game somewhere.
- It was all exciting, like watching a good pig race.
They been playing since way back when, you know. That 2019-20 season, they been a team for, what was it, 138 years? Long time, that is. Longer than I been around, that’s for sure. Imagine that, kicking a ball around for that long! My old bones ache just thinking about it.
Now, they got kicked outta the fancy league, the Premier one. They went down to the Championship. Like falling off the back of a wagon, I suppose. But they kept on going, bless their hearts. That’s what you gotta do, right? Just keep on going. Even that darn COVID-19 thing came along and messed everything up. But they still played, I remember that.
That 2019-20 season for Fulham, it was a real mixed bag. They won some, lost some. Kept us all on our toes, I tell ya. Made for some good watching, though. Better than watching paint dry, that’s for sure. My old man used to say, “Keep your eye on the ball.” And that’s what them Fulham boys did, most of the time.
- Wins, losses, it all comes out in the wash, as they say.
- They got some good players, that Fulham team.
- Kicking that ball around, rain or shine.
- The fans, they love ’em. Loyal bunch, they are.
This 2019-20 Fulham year was their first one back in the Championship after being in Premier League. That’s a big change, like going from a fancy car back to a horse and buggy, I imagine.

They have these things called results and scores. That’s how you know who won and who lost, who did good and who didn’t. It’s all numbers and such. Confusing to an old lady like me, but the young folks, they seem to understand it. That 2019-20 season of Fulham, they had a whole bunch of these results and scores.
I remember that Fulham team. They are an old team, they been around forever. Since way before my time, even. They started out in some league, way back when. The Southern Football League Division 2, whatever that means. Sounds important, though, doesn’t it?
They played that Leeds United team that year, I recall. It was a big game. Everyone was talking about it. Like when the prize-winning hog got loose at the county fair. Big news, I tell ya. That’s what that 2019-20 season was like for Fulham, a lot of big news. Some good, some bad.
- That Championship, it’s a tough league.
- Lots of teams trying to be the best.
- Just like a bunch of roosters in a henhouse, all fighting for the top spot.
- But Fulham, they held their own.
That 2019-20 season for Fulham, it was something else. It had everything, I reckon. Drama, excitement, disappointment, hope. You name it, they had it. Just like a good story, it kept you guessing. Kept you wanting more. And that’s what football is, ain’t it? A story that unfolds week after week.
You know, they been playing for so long, that Fulham team, they’ve seen it all. They got their ups and downs, just like everyone else. And that 2019-20 season, it was just another chapter in their long, long story. A story that’s still being written, I suppose. And who knows what the next chapter will bring. Only time will tell, as they say. Only time will tell.
