Okay, so I saw everyone talking about their March Madness bracket picks and how they were using AI, and I thought, “Why not give it a shot?” I mean, my brackets are usually busted by the second round anyway, so I figured I had nothing to lose.
Getting Started
First, I gotta admit, I’m no data scientist. I’m just a regular guy who likes basketball and was curious about this whole AI thing. So, I did what anyone would do: I started Googling. I looked up “AI bracket predictions 2024” and a bunch of stuff came up. Some were websites offering their “expert” AI-powered picks, others were articles talking about the technology behind it. I even found some tutorials on how to build your own model, but that seemed way over my head.
Finding Some Tools
I wanted something simple, something I could just plug some info into and get a bracket out. I stumbled upon a couple of sites that let you do just that. They had these fancy interfaces where you could tweak some settings, like how much weight to give to certain stats (like offensive efficiency, defensive efficiency, blah blah blah). Honestly, I didn’t even know what half of those things meant, so I mostly just left them at the default settings.
The AI Works Its “Magic”
After messing around with the settings (or, you know, not messing with them), I hit the “Generate Bracket” button. And boom! Out popped a complete bracket, filled with picks from the First Four all the way to the championship game. It felt kinda weird, like letting a computer decide my fate. I’m used to agonizing over every single matchup, comparing teams, and going with my gut.
Comparing and Tweaking

The Results (So Far)
Well, the tournament is still going on, so I can’t say for sure how well my AI-assisted bracket is doing. But, I gotta say, it’s definitely more intact than my usual brackets at this point. It’s got some surprising upsets, but overall, it feels… surprisingly reasonable? It’s a weird feeling, trusting a machine to make these picks, but it’s also kinda exciting.
Final Thoughts
Will I do it again next year? Maybe. It’s been a fun experiment, and it’s definitely taken some of the stress out of filling out a bracket. Plus, if my AI bracket actually wins my office pool, I’ll be sure to update you all on the glorious, machine-powered victory! For now I just have to wait and see what March Madness will be.
