Okay, so I’ve been messing around with this idea for a beat battle app for a while now. It all started when I was just chilling one day, listening to some beats, and I thought, “Wouldn’t it be cool if there was a way to like, actually battle other people with your beats?”

So, I started by just jotting down some ideas, you know, like how the app would work, what features it would have. I spent a good few days just brainstorming. Then I started to do some basic sketches of the interface on my old notebook. It looked pretty rough, but it was a start.
Next, I figured I needed to get a bit more serious, so I downloaded this free app design tool. I messed around with it for a while, trying to get the hang of it. It was tough at first, but I watched a bunch of tutorials online, just basic stuff, nothing fancy. Eventually, I managed to create a decent-looking mockup of the app.
- First, I designed the home screen, you know, where users would land when they open the app.
- Then I worked on the profile page, where people could show off their beats and stats.
- The hardest part was probably the battle screen, where the actual beat battles would take place. I wanted it to be really engaging and easy to use.
After I had the basic design down, I started thinking about how to actually build this thing. I tried messing with this no-code app builder I found, it was alright, but I couldn’t do what I wanted.
So, I decided to bite the bullet and learn some basic coding. I signed up for some free online courses, and let me tell you, it was a struggle! But I kept at it, and slowly but surely, I started to understand the basics.
I spent weeks just trying to get a simple prototype working. There were so many bugs, and I felt like giving up so many times. But I pushed through, and finally, I had something that kind of resembled a working app.

It’s still super rough around the edges, and it’s nowhere near ready to be released or anything. But I’m pretty proud of how far I’ve come. I learned a ton along the way, and I’m excited to keep working on it and see where it goes. Who knows, maybe one day it’ll actually be a real thing!
It’s been a wild ride, and there’s still a long way to go, but I’m hyped to see what happens next. Stick around, and I’ll keep you all updated on my progress.
