MotoGP Japan 2024: Everything You Need to Know About the Big Race (Tickets, Schedule, and How to Watch It Live Here!)

Alright, so I finally got around to checking out the MotoGP race in Japan for 2024, and let me tell you, it was a wild ride from start to finish!

MotoGP Japan 2024: Everything You Need to Know About the Big Race (Tickets, Schedule, and How to Watch It Live Here!)

First off, I started by looking up the dates and making sure I had everything lined up. This year, the race was held at the Mobility Resort Motegi, which is this awesome track about 90 miles north of Tokyo. I’ve always wanted to go to a MotoGP race, and Japan seemed like the perfect place to do it.

I booked my tickets online way in advance. I made sure to get grandstand seats because I wanted a good view of the action. If you’re planning on going, do this early because they sell out fast! Then I booked a hotel in Utsunomiya. It’s a city close to Motegi, it’s more convenient and there are more options for food and stuff.

Getting There and Race Day

Getting to the track was an adventure in itself. I took the Shinkansen (bullet train) from Tokyo to Utsunomiya, which was super fast and comfortable. From Utsunomiya, I caught a shuttle bus to the circuit. The buses were packed, but it was cool to see so many fans from all over the world heading to the same place.

Once I got to Mobility Resort Motegi, the atmosphere was electric. There were so many people, food stalls, merchandise booths, and just an overall buzz of excitement. I grabbed some takoyaki and a beer, and found my seat in the grandstand. The view was amazing! I could see the main straight and a couple of the key corners.

The Race

The race itself was insane. I watched as the riders zoomed past, the sound of their engines was so loud, and you could feel it in your chest. It was incredible to see these guys maneuvering their bikes at such high speeds, leaning into the turns like it was nothing.

  • There were a few crashes, which is always scary, but thankfully everyone was okay.
  • The lead changed hands several times, and the crowd was going wild.
  • I cheered and yelled with everyone else, it was impossible not to get caught up in the excitement.

In the end, Jorge Martin won the race. But honestly, the whole experience was the real winner. I met some great people, saw some amazing racing, and just had an all-around fantastic time.

After the Race

After the race, I hung around for a bit to soak up the last of the atmosphere. I bought a couple of souvenirs. Then I headed back to Utsunomiya on the shuttle bus, which was even more packed than before.

Back in the city, I found a little ramen shop and had a delicious meal. It was the perfect way to end an incredible day.

If you’re a MotoGP fan, or even just a fan of racing in general, I highly recommend going to the Japan race. It’s an experience you won’t forget. Just remember to book early, bring earplugs, and be prepared for an awesome time!
