Okay, so I wanted to see what this whole “Joanie Lauren MMA” thing was about. I’d heard some stuff, seen a few clips, and figured, why not? Might be fun, might be a total waste of time, but let’s give it a shot.
Getting Started
First off, finding full fights was a bit of a pain. You know how it is, you get those little snippets here and there, but getting the whole shebang? Tougher than it looks. I ended up digging through a few different sites, kind of piecing things together. Not ideal, but hey, gotta work with what you’ve got, right?
Watching the Fights
So, I finally got a decent collection of fights lined up. Kicked back, grabbed some snacks, and started watching. Initially, I was mostly just trying to figure out what her style was. Is she a striker? A grappler? A bit of both? Turns out, she’s pretty well-rounded, which is cool. She can throw some decent punches, but she’s also not afraid to take it to the ground.
Here’s what I scribbled down while watching:
- Striking: She’s got a pretty solid jab. Keeps her distance well, uses it to set up other stuff. Her right hand is her power punch, and she throws it with some serious oomph.
- Grappling: She’s not just a striker, that’s for sure. She can shoot for takedowns, and she’s got some slick moves on the ground. I saw her pull off a couple of nice submissions, and her ground and pound is pretty vicious.
- Defense: This is where she could maybe use a little work. She tends to get hit a bit too much, especially when she’s coming in. Needs to tighten up that defense a little.
My Takeaway
After watching a bunch of her fights, I gotta say, I’m kind of impressed. She’s definitely got some skills. She’s tough, she’s aggressive, and she’s always looking for the finish. I will find more matches and write more. I think I will probably make a video about her match analysis. It’s really a good topic to talk about. I guess I will see more women’s matches soon.
She’s not perfect, of course. There are definitely some areas where she could improve. But overall, she’s a fun fighter to watch. I’ll probably check out some more of her stuff in the future.
