Okay, so, I’ve been messing around with this idea for a show, right? It’s called “nxt show” and I’m aiming to get it out there by November 5th, 2024. Let me tell you, it’s been a wild ride getting this thing off the ground.

First off, I started by just brainstorming. I mean, I had this vague concept in my head, but nothing concrete. I spent a few days just jotting down random ideas, themes, and potential segments. It was a mess, to be honest, but a necessary one. Then, I tried to organize all that chaos into something resembling a coherent plan.
Outlining and Scripting
- Drafted a basic outline for the show.
- Figured out the main topics I wanted to cover.
- Started writing a rough script, which was way harder than I thought it would be. It is a pain.
Honestly, scripting is tough. I struggled to find the right tone and voice. But after a lot of trial and error, I managed to get a first draft down. It wasn’t perfect, but it was a start.
Gathering Resources
- Scoured the internet for any materials that could be useful.
- Reached out to some friends who are good with video stuff.
- Bookmarked tons of articles and videos that I thought could be inspiring or informative.
This part was kind of fun. I found a bunch of cool stuff that I think will make the show better. I love browsing on the net. Plus, talking to my friends got me even more excited about the project.
Setting Up
- Tried to set up a makeshift recording area in my apartment.
- Dug out an old microphone I had lying around.
- Figured out how to use some basic video editing software I downloaded.
Let me tell you, setting up a “studio” in a small apartment is a challenge. I moved furniture around, hung up some blankets for soundproofing, and prayed my neighbors wouldn’t complain about the noise.
Test Recording
- Recorded a short test segment to see how everything looked and sounded.
- Realized the lighting was terrible.
- Spent hours trying to fix it with desk lamps and whatever else I could find.
The test recording was a disaster, at first. The lighting made me look like a ghost, and the audio was all over the place. But after a lot of fiddling and adjusting, I got it to a point where it was watchable. I have learned a lot. I will never forgot these experiences.

So, that’s where I’m at now. I still have a ton of work to do before November 5th, but I’m feeling pretty good about it. I plan to keep refining the script, practicing my delivery, and improving the technical setup. It’s a lot of work, but I think it’ll be worth it in the end. And I hope I can make it before the deadline.
This whole process has been a learning experience, to say the least. I am learning new skills, pushing myself creatively, and getting a taste of what it takes to create something from scratch. I’ll keep you all updated on my progress. Wish me luck!
