Okay, so I’ve been messing around with this UFC fantasy picks thing for a while now, and I figured I’d share my, uh, “journey,” I guess you could call it. It all started when I was looking for some MMA DFS advice online. You know, just casually browsing, and I stumbled upon this “UFC Daily Plug” thing. Sounded interesting, so I dug a little deeper.
First, I downloaded the app on my Android phone. It was free, which is always a good start. The whole idea is you pick the winners of the fights, and you can compete against your friends or just random people from all over the world. I thought, “Why not? Could be fun.” I even saw you could win some gift cards or some gear which made me more excited.
So I started making my picks. At first, I was just picking based on who I liked more. Yeah, not the best strategy, I know. I got totally destroyed in the first few events. I mean, who even knew there were so many fighters? I started looking at some stats. You know, stuff like the number of strikes, takedowns, all that jazz. It’s crazy how much data is out there if you look for it. I learned about “significant strikes” and that one dude set a flyweight record with 120 in his debut – wild, right? I also found out that some fighters, like Stephanie Egger, have a good record, but then they have a bad fight and lose to someone they were supposed to beat. Makes it tough to predict, you know?
- Downloaded the app and started playing. It was pretty straightforward.
- Made some really bad picks. Learned my lesson there.
- Started looking at stats and doing some research. Got way more into it than I expected.
- Realized it’s not as easy as it looks. There’s a lot to consider.
After a while, I started getting a little better. Not winning any big prizes or anything, but at least I wasn’t embarrassing myself anymore. I even started my own league with some buddies. It’s pretty fun trash-talking each other and seeing who comes out on top. There are some good guys around the world who give some great advice.
I’m still no expert, but I’m definitely learning. It’s been a fun ride, and I’m sticking with it. If you’re into MMA and looking for something to spice things up, give this fantasy picks thing a try. You might surprise yourself. Just don’t expect to get rich quick, haha.
