I decided to focus on the NFC first. The Detroit Lions were already in. What a relief for them! But for everyone else? It was a nail-biter. I started calculating what each team needed. Wins, losses, other teams’ results… my head was spinning. I kept track of everything in this notebook I have.
After all that work, I finally figured out the most likely scenarios for each team. I felt like a real expert. Of course, things can still change. One upset, one unexpected win or loss, and the whole picture could shift. That’s what makes it so exciting, I guess. There are only two teams that won’t be in action for wild-card weekend are the No. 1 seeds – the Kansas City Chiefs and Detroit Lions. But for now, at least I have a pretty good idea of what to expect. And I’ll definitely be watching closely these last few weeks of the regular season to see how it all plays out.
