So, I was looking into the largest stadiums in the UK. It’s something I’ve been curious about for a while, and I finally got around to digging into it.

I started by searching some basic info about it. I found some lists and articles, and it got me thinking about how these places are ranked. It seems like everyone focuses on capacity, which makes sense, right?
The Big Three
From what I gathered, there are three stadiums that stand out:
- Wembley Stadium: This one is a beast, holding up to 90,000 people. It’s in London and apparently cost almost a billion pounds to build! Also, some said it is the Home of Football!
- Twickenham Stadium: Another London giant, but a bit smaller at 82,000 capacity. I found this name from a list, and it looks like it’s mainly for rugby.
- Old Trafford: This one’s in Greater Manchester and can fit around 74,310 folks. It’s been around since 1910, so it has some history. Seem it is home of Manchester United. And it only cost 90,000 to build, so cheap!
Another One in the Mix
Then there’s this Principality Stadium in Cardiff. It’s nearly as big as Old Trafford, with a capacity of 73,000, more or less. This costed more than 121,000.
I tried to make a simple table in my notes to keep track of these. Just the name, capacity, and location. Nothing fancy, just enough to get a clear picture. Also, I found some pictures about these stadiums from Wikimedia Commons. They looks amazing!
This whole thing started as a simple curiosity, but it’s been pretty interesting to learn about these massive structures. Where they are, how many people they can hold and how much they costed, and who plays there – it’s all quite fascinating when you start to piece it together. I saw someone said there is a guide to the 20 biggest sporting venues in UK. Maybe I should take a look later.

Anyway, that’s my little adventure into the world of UK stadiums. Hope you found it as interesting as I did!
