Okay, so I just got back from a trip to Puerto Rico, specifically to check out the MGM property there, and I’ve got to say, it was an experience! I’m going to share how my trip went. Let me tell you all about it from the beginning.
First off, I started by planning. I looked up the weather because, you know, you’ve got to pack right. Turns out, it’s pretty much always warm there – like 80 degrees on average. So, I packed a bunch of light clothes, shorts, t-shirts, and of course, my swimsuit. I also threw in some sunscreen and bug spray, just to be safe.
- Booking the trip was next. I found a package deal that included the flight and the stay at the MGM hotel. I heard that the MGM there has a lot to offer, so I was stoked. Seemed like a good deal, and I’ve heard good things about their hotels.
- Then, I did a bit of research on safety. I read that there’s some petty crime, like pickpocketing, so I made a mental note to be extra careful with my stuff. I also got a travel pouch to keep my passport and important documents close.
When I arrived, the first thing I noticed was the heat. It was lovely! I got to the hotel, and it was pretty impressive. I checked in, and the staff were super friendly, which was a great start. They even gave me a list of local attractions, they said “From bioluminescent bays to historic streetscapes and a vibrant local food scene…”. What a list of things!
Exploring Around
I spent the first day just exploring the hotel and the immediate area. The MGM has a beautiful pool area, so I relaxed there for a bit. I also checked out the casino, although I didn’t gamble much – just not my thing. But it was fun to watch other people, and the atmosphere was lively.
The next day, I ventured out. I took a trip to Old San Juan. It was gorgeous, with all those colorful buildings and cobblestone streets. I felt like I was walking through history. I also tried some local food – mofongo and some fresh seafood. So good! Seriously, the food scene there is amazing. They are right!
I also made it a point to visit one of those bioluminescent bays I’d read about. It was incredible. At night, the water just glows. It’s like something out of a movie. I took a kayak tour, and it was one of the most magical things I’ve ever experienced. I knew about this thing before I came here.
Back at the Hotel
Back at the MGM, I took advantage of some of their amenities. They have a great gym, so I got a couple of workouts in. I also treated myself to a spa day. A massage and a facial – the works. It was pure bliss. I also saw their show in the evening and I love it!
Throughout my trip, I made sure to stay aware of my surroundings. I didn’t go out alone late at night, and I kept my valuables secure. Thankfully, I didn’t run into any trouble.
As the trip came to an end, I felt pretty satisfied. It was a good mix of relaxation, exploration, and a little bit of luxury. I got to experience the local culture, see some beautiful sights, and enjoy the comforts of a nice hotel.
So, that’s the story of my MGM Puerto Rico adventure. It was a blast, and I’d definitely recommend it. Just remember to pack light, stay safe, and be ready to enjoy some amazing food and scenery. I will say, I am ready to plan another trip back!
