Alright, let’s talk about them football teams, the Dallas Cowboys and the Houston Texans. You know, the ones with all them fellas runnin’ around in them tight pants and helmets? Yeah, them.
Now, I ain’t no expert or nothin’, but I do watch the games sometimes when there ain’t nothin’ else on the TV. From what I gather, these two teams, they got themselves a bit of a thing goin’ on, a “rivalry” they call it. Sounds fancy, don’t it? Basically, it just means they like beatin’ each other real bad.
The Texans, they’re the newer team, see? Started playin’ not too long ago, in 2002 I think it was. Their very first game, wouldn’t ya know it, was against the Cowboys. And wouldn’t ya know it again, the Texans, they went and won that game! Can you imagine? Beat them big ol’ Cowboys right out the gate. That kinda set the tone for this whole “rivalry” thing.
- Head-to-Head: So far, they ain’t played each other a whole bunch of times. I heard it’s only been seven times in the regular season. And the Cowboys, they done won more of them games, four to be exact. Texans won three. So, the Cowboys got the bragging rights for now, I guess.
- When They Play: They don’t play each other every year, see. It’s like every four years or somethin’. And they usually play in the preseason too. Keeps things interesting, I reckon.
This whole thing, they even got a name for it! The Governor’s Cup, they call it. Sounds important, huh? Like a big shiny trophy or somethin’. I ain’t never seen it, but I bet it’s real purdy.
Now, the Cowboys, they been around a long, long time. They got a whole bunch of wins under their belt, way more than the Texans. They’re one of them “historic” teams, they say. Lots of famous players and championships and all that jazz. The Texans, they still tryin’ to make a name for themselves, buildin’ up their own history. But they scrappy, them Texans, they don’t give up easy.
Monday Night Football, that’s when they played each other one time. Big game, lots of folks watchin’. Folks get real worked up about these games, yellin’ at the TV and such. I just sit there and watch, maybe have a little somethin’ sweet to eat. Don’t understand all the fuss, but it’s kinda fun to see them fellas runnin’ around.
You know, before the Texans, there was another team in Houston, the Oilers they was called. They played the Cowboys too, way back when. So, this whole Dallas-Houston football thing, it’s been goin’ on longer than some of them young folks been alive!
The Texans, they tryin’ to be the best team in Texas, see? That’s a big deal ‘round here. Texas folks, they love their football. And they love beatin’ their neighbors, specially Dallas. It’s like a big ol’ family feud, but with a football instead of a shotgun. (Just kiddin’ about the shotgun, ya hear?)
You can compare the teams, look at their stats and all that. But I just watch the game, see who scores the most points. That’s how you win, right? Score more points than the other fella. Simple as that. The Texans, one time, they scored a whole bunch of points against some other team, the Titans. But that ain’t got nothin’ to do with the Cowboys, I guess.
So, this rivalry, it’s a big deal to some folks. They get all excited when the Cowboys and Texans play. Me, I just hope for a good game, no injuries, and maybe a close score. Keep things excitin’, ya know? And if my team wins, well, that’s just the cherry on top. But if they lose, ain’t no big deal. There’s always next season, or next time they play. It’s just a game, after all.
And that’s about all I know about the Dallas Cowboys and Houston Texans. They play football, they got a rivalry, and folks get real worked up about it. Seems like a lot of fuss over a bunch of fellas in tight pants, but hey, that’s football for ya.
