Camp Creek Golf Course Reviews: What Real Golfers Say

Hey everyone, it’s your boy back again with another adventure! This time, I hit up the Camp Creek Golf Club, and boy, do I have some stories for you. Let me just start by saying this place is not your average golf course. It’s a whole different beast. I heard about it from some buddies who couldn’t stop raving about it, so I figured, why not give it a shot?

First off, finding this place was an adventure in itself. It’s kind of tucked away on Florida’s panhandle, a bit west of Panama City Beach. Not exactly the easiest spot to get to, but trust me, it’s worth the trek. I loaded up my gear, hopped in the car, and made my way over there. The drive was pretty scenic, which was a nice bonus.

When I finally arrived, I was struck by how pristine the place looked. I mean, the fairways and greens were so well-groomed, it was almost intimidating. It’s clear they put a lot of effort into maintaining this course. I parked, grabbed my clubs, and headed to the clubhouse. The staff there were super friendly and gave me some tips on navigating the course. They weren’t kidding when they said it was both difficult and friendly – a rare combo!

I started my round, and man, this course is a challenge. It’s an 18-hole championship course designed by Tom Fazio, and you can tell. There’s a mix of short and long holes, and those wide fairways are deceiving. They look inviting, but they really test your long game. I’ve played my fair share of golf, but this was something else. I had to pull out all the stops, and even then, I had my work cut out for me.

  • First Hole: Started strong, but quickly realized this wasn’t going to be a walk in the park.
  • Mid-Round: Got into a rhythm, but those tricky holes kept me on my toes. Some of them are killers, in a good way.
  • Back Nine: Really had to focus. The course layout is brilliant, but it demands your full attention. It is not easy at all.

One thing I loved was the setting. You’re close to the Gulf of Mexico, and the scenery is just beautiful. It adds a whole other dimension to the game. It is designed in 2002. Plus, being in Walton County, the whole area has this gorgeous, laid-back vibe. It’s the perfect place to escape and just focus on your game. I can totally see why this is a popular destination, not just for locals but for folks visiting the area too. I even met a couple who were on vacation and decided to give it a try – they were loving it.

Wrap-Up

All in all, my day at Camp Creek Golf Club was a blast. It’s definitely a course that both challenges and rewards you. If you’re looking for a top-quality golfing experience, this is it. It lives up to the hype, and then some. I’ll definitely be back, maybe with some friends next time. If you find yourself in the Panama City Beach area, do yourself a favor and check out Camp Creek. You won’t regret it!
