Mets Dance Team Auditions: How to Join the Team!

Hey everyone, it’s your boy back again with another story from my wild life. So, picture this: I decided to try out for the Mets dance team, “The Queens Crew.” Yeah, you heard that right – this guy wanted to shake it on the field at Citi Field. I saw somewhere they were looking for dancers to join, and I thought, why not? It sounded like a blast, returning for their second season and all.

I went to their place, feeling like I was stepping into a whole new world. I mean, the New York Mets are huge, right? And this dance team, “The Queens Crew,” was supposed to be a big deal. A co-ed team, which is a first for the Mets, and sponsored by Cadillac no less. Fancy, huh?

First thing I did was check out what this was all about. It wasn’t just about dancing at games. They do events, surprises, you name it. Basically, they’re there to make the whole experience “Amazin’,” as they put it. I started practicing, imagining myself out there, dancing from the Jackie Robinson Rotunda to the dugout. I was ready to bring it.

Getting Into the Groove

  • Watched a ton of videos.
  • Practiced my moves in the living room.
  • Even tried to copy some routines from their previous shows.

The day of the tryout, I was pumped. I walked in, and it was like stepping onto a movie set. Dancers everywhere, music blasting, the energy was insane. I gave it my all, danced my heart out. It was a rush, to say the least.

After I finished, I hung around, watching the others. These people were good, like, really good. It hit me then just how big of a deal this was. This wasn’t just some casual gig; it was serious. I started chatting with some of the other dancers. Some were super friendly, others were all business. But everyone was focused, you could tell this meant a lot to them.

The Aftermath

I left that day feeling pretty good but also kinda nervous. Did I do enough? Was I good enough? I kept thinking about all those amazing dancers I saw. It was tough competition. I spent the next few days replaying my performance in my head, wondering if I’d get that call.

Well, guess what? I didn’t get in. Yeah, a bit of a bummer, but hey, that’s life. It was an experience, that’s for sure. I got to see what it’s like to be part of something like that, even just for a day. And who knows, maybe I’ll try again next year. For now, I’ve got some new moves and a cool story to tell. Keep swinging for the fences, folks, that’s what I always say.

So, that’s my story about trying out for the Mets dance team. It didn’t all go as planned, but it was definitely an adventure. You never know unless you try, right? And who knows what I’ll get myself into next. Stay tuned!
