My Morning Test Setup
So today I grabbed a cold can of Red Bull right after breakfast, around 8 AM. Popped it open and chugged it down real quick. Set my phone timer to buzz every 30 minutes and grabbed my notebook to track how I feel.

Timeline of the Buzz
8:30 AM: Starting to feel that electric jitter in my hands. Got sudden urge to rearrange my desk drawers – weird but true. Felt like someone plugged me into a power socket.
9:00 AM: Hit maximum zoomies stage. Finished three work reports in 45 minutes flat. Brain felt like a race car on open highway, but my legs wouldn’t stop bouncing under the table.
10:30 AM: Noticed the engine slowing down. That laser focus started getting fuzzy around the edges. Had to reread an email three times – concentration dropping fast.
11:15 AM: Total system crash. Suddenly felt like I got hit by a sleepy truck. Yawned five times in two minutes. Found myself staring blankly at my coffee maker wishing for another boost.
What I Learned
- Real kick lasts about 60-90 minutes
- You get maybe 2 hours max of actual productivity
- Crash hits hard around 3 hour mark
- Ended up feeling more tired than before drinking it
Whole experience reminds me of borrowing energy from tomorrow – feels great until payback time. Honestly think I’ll stick with black coffee next time.
