Then, the main event: shirt decorating! Got the twins in old clothes. Spread newspapers everywhere. Out came the fabric markers.
- Started with a big yellow circle on each belly (nose).
- Drew tiny black eyes above.
- Added the whiskers… Rosie poked Lily’s arm and messed up a line. Minor squabble ensued.
- Finally drew the bow. Pink, obviously. One on each side because symmetry is hard. Looked cute, not perfect.
Let them dry while we started baking the cookies. Simple sugar cookies from a mix. Big mistake? Letting them help measure the water. Splash zone.
Crafting & Chaos
While cookies cooled, we made stupidly simple “Hello Kitty Ears.” Cut strips of white cardstock stapled into headbands. Stuck on smaller pink triangles for the insides. They wobbled terribly. The twins loved them.

Put the twins in their new DIY shirts, the wobbly ears, and… voila! Instant twin Hello Kittys. Got them to stand by the banner for pics while they pulled faces. Pure gold.
Party time! Sat at the pink table.
- Poured pink lemonade. Used regular glasses, nothing fancy.
- Decorated cookies: mostly a massive swirl of pink and white icing with a sprinkle mountain each. They licked more off the knives than went on cookies.
- Giggled constantly comparing their messy creations.
Finished up by giving them the little notebooks. They spent the last 20 minutes drawing in them while wearing their ears sideways. Success.
