Okay, so yesterday I went out to play a round at Butler Falls Golf Course, and let me tell you, it was quite an experience.
First off, I checked their winter hours, you know, since it’s still pretty chilly out. Turns out, they’re open on the “good days” when it’s 50 degrees or better. Luckily, yesterday was one of those days!
I called them at (812) 569-8814 to book a tee time. They are at 4766 W Butler Falls Dr. Hanover. The guy on the phone was super friendly and got me a spot for the early afternoon. They said memberships were only $450 if I got one before January 15th.
Once I got there, I grabbed my clubs and headed to the first tee. This course has 18 holes, by the way. I used my GPS to get distances, which was super helpful, especially since it was my first time playing there.
I kept score on their scorecard. The course is known for its strategic design, and I definitely felt that. Some holes were pretty challenging, but it was a lot of fun figuring out how to play them.
- Oh, and I tried out a little trick I heard about for finding lost balls.
- They say it’s easier to spot them in the dark, so I brought along my Golf Ball Finder torch.
- Didn’t find hundreds like some people claim, but I did manage to snag a few that others had left behind!
It was a pretty good day.
I played the whole course, and while my score wasn’t exactly pro-level, I had a blast. It is a good place for visitors.
