Okay, so, I’ve been itching to get my hands on a bomber motorcycle jacket for a while now. I finally decided, what the heck, let’s do this. First thing, I hopped online to see what’s out there. Man, there’s a ton of stuff! Advanced materials, integrated tech, you name it. But I wanted something that looked cool and would keep me safe, you know, “dress for the crash” and all that.

I spent hours browsing. Found this online store, FortNine, seemed legit, especially for us in Canada. They’ve got a huge selection of gear. Also checked out some local spots, like this Vespa place in Montreal I saw on Yelp. You gotta support local businesses, right?
Helmets First
Obviously, the first thing I focused on was a helmet. That’s the most important piece of gear, no doubt. I made sure to look for ones that were DOT compliant. Gotta protect the noggin. There were so many styles and colors, it was a bit overwhelming, but I finally picked one that felt comfortable and looked pretty badass, if I do say so myself.
Jacket Time
- Look for a good fit: Not too loose, not too tight.
- Check the material: Leather or some heavy-duty textile.
- Armor is key: Shoulders, elbows, and back.
Then came the jacket hunt. I narrowed it down to bomber styles because, let’s be honest, they look awesome. I tried on a bunch, making sure they fit just right – not too loose, not too tight. You want to be able to move around but also have the jacket actually protect you if you take a spill. I checked out the materials, too. Most were leather, which is classic, but some had these new high-tech fabrics that are supposed to be super strong. Most importantly, I looked for armor in the shoulders, elbows, and back. That’s where you need the most padding.
After trying on what felt like a hundred jackets, I finally found the one. It’s this amazing black leather bomber with all the right protection in all the right places. It fits like a glove, and I feel like a total badass wearing it. It wasn’t cheap, but hey, you can’t put a price on safety, right? Plus, I’m pretty sure I’ll look cool as hell riding down the road.
So, yeah, that’s my bomber motorcycle jacket story. It took some time and effort, but I’m stoked with what I ended up with. Now, I’m just waiting for some decent weather so I can finally take my bike out and show off my new gear. Ride safe, everyone!
