You got your “c” and your “t,” and right smack-dab in the middle is that “a.” That “a” is the only vowel sound in cat.

Then there is “hat”. Same as “cat,” “hat” only got that one “a” makin’ a sound. “Man,” that’s another one. That word “man” has that only “a” as a vowel. And then “can.” That word only has “a” as a vowel. You see what I mean? They’re everywhere, these words. You start lookin’ for ’em, and you’ll find ’em all over the place. Words like “hand” and “band”, only “a” as a vowel in both those words.
