Ey, you wanna know ’bout that craftsman truck qualifying today, huh? Well, lemme tell ya, it’s a big ol’ deal. All them young fellas in their fancy trucks, tryin’ to go fast as they can. It’s somethin’ else to see, I tell ya.
Qualifying Races
Now, this qualifyin’ thing, it’s how they figure out who starts where in the big race. They all go out there and drive around that track, fast as a jackrabbit. That track gets hot in qualifyin’, and them fellas drive like crazy. Fastest one gets to start in the front. Makes sense, right?
The track they are going to race is Phoenix Raceway. It’s a good one for sure.
- Ty Majeski, I heard, is real good.
- Zane Smith is another good one. He drives that #38 truck. It’s a Ford, good truck.
- They say Ty is fast this year. Real fast. He’s trying to win. That’s what they are all trying to do.
Truck Series Championship Race
They got this big race, the Championship Race, that’s what they call it. Sounds fancy, don’t it? It’s part of that NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. Lots of trucks, all revvin’ up and goin’ around. These trucks, they ain’t like your regular pickup truck. They’re built for speed. They say these things got like 650 horsepower. Now, I don’t know what that means exactly, but it sounds like a whole lotta power!
They go to different places. One place is called Martinsville. They got all kinds of tracks, I reckon. Ovals, short tracks, even them road courses, whatever them are.
Fast Trucks Today
That Ty Majeski, he’s leadin’ the pack, they say. He was dominatin’ in that qualifying. Heard he did a hot lap, 138.180 mph. Don’t know how fast that is, but I bet it’s faster than my old mule! He wants to win that Truck Series title. Imagine that! He used to be an engineer, buildin’ things. Now he’s out there, racin’ around like a wild man. It’s a funny world, ain’t it?
This whole thing, it’s part of the final weekend, they call it. They gonna have the Craftsman 150 at that Phoenix Raceway. Sounds like a big to-do. And you can watch it on TV, on that FOX Sports 1. They even got one of them things called Fubo you can watch it on. If ya like watchin’ them trucks zoom around. That’s the thing to see. It’s a Truck Series thing.
NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series
This whole NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, it’s kinda like a big ol’ family, I guess. Lots of folks involved. Drivers, teams, mechanics, all workin’ together to make them trucks go fast. It’s somethin’ to see, all that teamwork. They all want to win, but only one can. It is the Truck Series title they are after.
The qualifying is very important, you see. Because you can be the fastest today, but if something goes wrong tomorrow. Then you’re in trouble. Just like life I guess. They got to be careful. Can not afford to make any mistakes.
Some of them drivers, they been doin’ this for a long time. They know all the tricks, all the ins and outs of them tracks. But there’s always new ones comin’ up, young fellas tryin’ to make a name for themselves. It’s a tough business, but they all love it.
I heard they got all kinds of rules in this NASCAR thing. Rules ’bout the trucks, rules ’bout the racin’, rules ’bout everything. Keeps it fair, I suppose. But sometimes it seems like a lot of fuss over nothin’. Just let ’em race, I say!
They do this every year. They get all these trucks together. Race all over the place. Qualifying today and then racing. And then there is a big race at the end. That’s the one everyone wants to win.
Well, that’s about all I know ’bout this craftsman truck qualifying today. It’s a lot of excitement, if you’re into that sort of thing. Me, I’m just gonna sit here on my porch and watch the world go by. But I might just turn on the TV and see what all the fuss is about. You never know, might be somethin’ worth watchin’ after all.
