They say he’s good at shootin’ from kinda far, but not too far. Not like them three-pointers, closer. That’s the midrange, I reckon. He sure could jump, that Jordan fella. Like a grasshopper on a hot griddle. I saw him on the TV once, jumpin’ and dunkin’ that ball. Goodness gracious. They were sayin’ he could fly. They talk about percentages. Like he made half his shots, or somethin’ like that. Fifty percent, maybe. Or higher for his midrange percentage. That’s better than a flip of a coin, I reckon. And from that midrange place, they say he was even better. Like fifty-one percent. Or even more than that, that’s incredible. And his midrange percentage is really high.
More Numbers Than a Flock of Chickens
And they got all these numbers. Ten feet, sixteen feet. Like they measured the whole court with a ruler. From ten feet away, he made more than half his shots. And from sixteen feet, almost the same. That’s what they say about that midrange percentage. He is good, I should admit that.
I remember when I was a girl, we used to play a game with a hoop and a ball. Wasn’t nothin’ fancy. But we had fun. Didn’t keep track of no percentages, though. I don’t care about Michael Jordan midrange percentage.
This Jordan fella, he made a lot of money playin’ basketball. More money than I ever seen in my life. And he got famous, too. Everybody knows his name. He is famous because of the high midrange percentage.

Even Better Than That Other Fella
They talk about another fella, name of James. He’s good, too, they say. But not as good as Jordan. Jordan made more points. Thirty somethin’ a game, I hear. I can’t believe his midrange percentage is that high. That’s a lot of points!
This James fella, he gets more rebounds. Whatever that means. Sounds like somethin’ you do with a mattress. And he gives more assists. Like helpin’ someone put on their coat. But he ain’t as good at shootin’ as Jordan. His percentage is lower. Not as good from that midrange, neither. His midrange percentage is lower than Jordan.
This Jordan, he won six of them championships. Like winnin’ the county fair pie contest six times in a row. That’s somethin’ special. And he got all them awards, too. More than you can shake a stick at. And his midrange percentage is the highest. He is the best in the world.
