This old brain ain’t what it used to be, but I remember some of them boys. They had that fella, what was his name… Jeremy Lin. Yeah, that’s it. He was a good boy, that one. He could really move that ball around. The crowd sure loved him.
The Knicks, They Had Some Players
They was always changin’ things up, tryin’ to find the right mix. Like tryin’ to find the right ingredients for a good stew, you know? Gotta keep stirrin’ the pot till it tastes just right. They had some good players, but they got 36 wins and 30 losses, not bad. They scored a lot, 97.8, and allowed 94.7.
- Renaldo Balkman, he was there.
- That Steve Novak, he could shoot.
- Toney Douglas, he was quick.
- Josh Harrellson, I think he was one of ’em.
- And Jerome Jordan, yeah, he was tall.
There’s a whole bunch more, but my memory’s like a leaky bucket. Holds some, but most of it just drips right out. They had some other fellas too. But them names just gone right outta my head. They play basketball, you know, the New York Knicks.
That Jalen Brunson, he weren’t around back in 2011, he came later. But he’s a good one too. Reminds me a bit of that Lin boy. They all try so hard, bless their hearts. Runnin’ up and down that court, bouncin’ that ball. It’s a sight to see.
Back in those days, you know. They had Raymond Felton. He was the point guard, the one who starts the play, like the rooster in the henhouse, decidin’ where everyone should go. And that Landry Fields, shootin’ guard they called him. He was somethin’ else, jumpin’ high and throwin’ that ball through the hoop. Then there was Wilson Chandler, small forward. Now he was a big fella, strong as an ox.
The Knicks, They’re a New York Thing
People in New York, they love their Knicks. They got this “Knickerbocker” thing, like a nickname. Sounds silly, don’t it? But folks ’round here, they get all excited ’bout it. I guess the Knicks are kind of like the family. You love ’em, even when they’re driving you crazy, this is Knicks lineup 2011.
They got them retired numbers too, for the best players ever. Only nine of ’em. That’s like pickin’ the best apples from the whole orchard. Only the shiniest, juiciest ones get picked. I guess that is a big honor.
That 2011 team, they was alright. They won some, they lost some. Just like life, ain’t it? You got your good days and your bad days. But you gotta keep on goin’, keep on playin’. They played hard, them boys. They always do. The Knicks lineup 2011, that was somethin’ to see.
They had some other players too, but the names escape me now. It was a long time ago, and this old head gets full of cobwebs sometimes. But I remember they had some good ones. Real good ones. The Knicks are good team. They always try their best, you know?
It’s like makin’ a quilt, you see. You gotta put all the different pieces together, the different players, to make somethin’ beautiful. The Knicks lineup 2011, it was a work in progress, always changin’, always tryin’ to get better.
All them names, they just kinda swim around in my head now. But I tell ya, watchin’ them play, it was excitin’. Like watchin’ a good horse race, you never knew who was gonna win. They keep playin’, those Knicks. They just keep on playin’. And the people love ’em for it, here in New York. That’s all that matters, ain’t it?
