First thing you gotta know, you need to buy ’em online. They ain’t sellin’ ’em at the corner store, that’s for sure. They say you can get ’em on this thing called Ticketmaster. Sounds fancy, huh? I guess it’s okay. They say it’s the real deal, authorized by that MLB thing. Whatever that is.
Now, these games ain’t in Detroit, no sir. They’re down in Florida, a place called Lakeland. Sunny, they say. Warmer than a hen house in July, I bet. That’s where this Publix Field at Joker Marchant Stadium is. That’s a mouthful, ain’t it? Sounds like a clown’s convention. But that’s where them Tigers play in the spring, gettin’ ready for the real games.
They say this Joker Marchant place been around since ’66. That’s a long time! Probably got some history, that place. They say you can walk all around it. Good for stretchin’ your legs, I guess. Lots of sunshine, they say. Sounds good to me.
You know, they tell ya to get your Detroit Tiger Spring Training tickets early. Book your trip early, they say. Get the best deals. Well, ain’t that the truth for everything? Early bird gets the worm, as they say. And them tickets probably cost a pretty penny, so you best be savin’ up.
I heard some folks go down there every year. A whole trip out of it! They say it’s a good way to get away from the cold in Detroit. Guess them folks up there got more money than sense, but hey, to each their own.

Oh, and another thing, Comerica Park is a “cashless venue.” What’s that mean? Means you can’t use your dollar bills, I reckon. Gotta use one of them plastic cards. Just another thing to learn, I suppose.
If you wanna go see the Detroit Tiger Spring Training, you gotta plan ahead. They say you need a special account to get in now. They call it a “Tigers Spring Training Ticket Account.” Sounds complicated to me. But I guess that’s how they do things these days.
They got all sorts of rules at these ballparks now. Back in my day, you just showed up and watched the game. Now, you need accounts and special tickets. And they tell you all about parkin’ and directions. Like we ain’t got enough sense to find our way around.
They even got games where the team is split. I don’t know about that. Seems to me they should all be playin’ together. But what do I know? I’m just sayin’. I saw one of those split squad games scheduled for February 28, 2025. It’s against the Toronto Blue Jays.
