Figuring Out the Fair Tickets
Alright, so the Alameda County Fair season rolled around again. We talked about it at home and decided, yeah, let’s definitely go this year. Been a while, and the kids were excited about the idea.

First step was figuring out the tickets. You know how it is, things change year to year. So, I hopped on the computer. Didn’t really know where to start, just typed in something like ‘Alameda County Fair tickets’ into the search bar.
Finding the Right Place
Took me a minute clicking through links. Lots of sites talking about the fair, but I needed the actual place to buy the tickets. Finally landed on what looked like their official website. It had all the dates, times, and yeah, the ticket section.
They had a few different options:
- General admission for one day.
- Season passes, if you plan on going a lot.
- Carnival wristbands, separate from entry.
- Some special deals for certain days, I think.
We just needed tickets for one day. Keep it simple. We figured we’d deal with ride tickets or wristbands once we were actually inside the fairgrounds and saw what the kids wanted to do. So, general admission it was.
The Buying Part
Clicked on the day we wanted to go. Had to select how many adult tickets, how many kid tickets. Pretty standard stuff. Then it sent me to the checkout page.

Had to fill in all the usual boxes: name, email address, billing address, and then the credit card details. Double-checked the numbers, hit the purchase button, and hoped it went through okay.
Got a confirmation screen right away, which was good. Said an email was on its way. Sure enough, checked my inbox, and there it was. The email had the tickets attached, looked like PDF files.
Getting Ready
I downloaded those ticket files straight away. Opened them up to make sure they looked legit, had the barcode and everything. Looked fine.
Now, I know you can probably just show the ticket on your phone these days, but I’m old school. What if the phone battery dies? Or the signal’s bad? So, I printed them all out. Just regular paper. Folded them up and put them in an envelope near the front door so we wouldn’t forget them on the day.
So, yeah, that’s the process. Tickets are bought and printed. Now we just have to wait for the actual day to go have some fun. Hopefully, the weather holds up!
