So, I was kicking back the other day, watching some golf highlights, as you do. Rory McIlroy pops up on the screen, hitting a great shot. And then it kinda clicked, something I’d seen floating around online, whispers and comments about him maybe getting some work done, you know, plastic surgery.
It got me thinking. Not in a gossipy way, more like, huh, I wonder what makes people say that? Curiosity got the better of me, I guess. So, I decided to do my own little check. Nothing fancy, just pulling up some pictures.
Looking Closer Myself
I opened up my browser and started searching for photos. Found some older ones, from when he first came onto the scene, looking really young. Then I grabbed some recent ones. I spent a good chunk of time just flipping back and forth between the old and new pictures on my screen.
What was I looking for? Honestly, I wasn’t sure at first. Just looking, really. Trying to see what might have changed, besides just getting older, obviously.
- Maybe the hairline? Lots of guys worry about that.
- Nose shape? That’s a common one people speculate about.
- Even teeth – veneers are popular.
I stared at these pictures for a while. Sometimes I thought, yeah, maybe something looks a bit different around the eyes or jawline? Other times, I thought, nah, it’s probably just the angle, the lighting, or maybe he just lost or gained a bit of weight, filled out a bit as he got older. It’s surprisingly hard to tell for sure just from pictures you find online.
Then I went down the rabbit hole of reading what other folks were saying in forums and comment sections. Lots of strong opinions both ways! Some people were convinced he had, pointing to specific things. Others were adamant he hadn’t, saying it’s just natural aging and fitness.
At the end of it all, after my little deep dive, I didn’t come away with any concrete proof. It’s all just guesswork from the sidelines, isn’t it? My “practice” here was really just about satisfying my own curiosity, seeing what the fuss was about, and comparing images myself. It’s interesting how we notice these subtle things, or think we do. Ultimately, who knows? And really, does it matter? He’s still smashing the ball. It was just an exercise in observation, I suppose. Made me realize how much we scrutinize public figures.
