So, the other day I decided to hit up Spring Meadows Driving Range. I’d been meaning to work on my swing, and honestly, just whack some balls for a while to de-stress.

Getting Started
First things first, I grabbed my clubs from the trunk. Made sure I had my glove – don’t want any blisters! Then, I walked into the little shop they have there to get a bucket of balls. I went with the large bucket, figuring I’d be there for a bit.
Finding a Spot
It wasn’t too crowded, which was nice. I found a stall near the middle, not too close to anyone else. Gives you a bit of breathing room, you know? I set down my bucket and started laying out a few balls.
The Practice Session
Started with my pitching wedge, just to get a feel for things. Short, easy swings. Then I moved on to my 7-iron. Felt pretty good, hitting them straight, mostly. I spent a good chunk of time with the 7-iron, really trying to focus on my form.
- Keep your head down.
- Smooth backswing.
- Follow through!
After that, I pulled out the big dog – my driver. This is where things can get a little… unpredictable. First few were okay, decent distance, but then I started slicing them like crazy. You know, those shots that go way off to the right? Super frustrating.
I took a deep breath, tried to remember everything my buddy told me about fixing a slice. Honestly, it’s a work in progress. I hit a few more, some good, some bad. It is what it is.

Finishing up
By the time I was nearing the bottom of the bucket, my arms were starting to feel it. I finished off the last few balls, trying to end on a good note. Packed up my clubs, tossed the empty bucket in the bin, and headed back to the car. Definitely felt like I got a good workout, and it was a good way to clear my head. I need to remember get back more often.
