Hey, lemme tell ya somethin’ ’bout that kc royals draft. Lordy, that’s a whole mess of pickin’ and choosin’, ain’t it? It’s like pickin’ the best piglet from the litter, only these piglets are young fellas who can hit a ball real good.

I heard them talkin’ ’bout this kc royals draft, sayin’ how they gotta pick these young’uns to play for ’em. They got this whole thing, this “draft” they call it, where all the teams take turns pickin’ players. Like a big ol’ lottery, ‘cept instead of winnin’ money, you win a chance to play baseball.
And this year, sounds like some team called the Cleveland somethin’ – Guardians, I think? – they get to pick first. Then there’s the Cincinnati Reds, then Colorado Rockies, and then the Oakland A’s. That’s how they said it went.
They was talkin’ about some fellas, Frank somethin’ or other and Ben somethin’ else. Said they got picked in that kc royals draft back in 2021, but only start playing in 2022. These young fellas, they don’t waste no time, do they? And these two other fellas, Hunter and Mason, haven’t even played yet, it sounds like. One of them is called a “lefty.” Ain’t that somethin’? Left-handed, I reckon.
Back in ’79, there was this fella, they called him Marino. He got picked by the Royals, but he went off to play football instead. Can you imagine? Choosin’ football over baseball? Another fella, Elway, got picked by the Royals too, way back when. He was a big shot, that Elway. He did get to play a bit, I think.
- They gotta pick ’em young, these baseball teams.
- They look for the ones who can hit the ball the farthest, I reckon.
- It’s like pickin’ the best apple from the tree, you want the one that’s gonna be the sweetest.
It is a big deal, this kc royals draft. Every year, they do it, pickin’ them players. Them Royals, they got their eye on some young fella named Wolters. Said he was a real good one. A “righty” this time. They sure do love their righties and lefties, don’t they? They are lookin’ for power, they say. Somebody who can smack that ball clear outta the park.

They got all these fancy names for the rounds, too. First round, second round, sounds like a boxing match. And they got these lists, long lists of all the young’uns hopin’ to get picked.
It’s a whole lot of fuss, if you ask me. But I guess it’s important. These young fellas, they dream of playin’ in the big leagues. It’s their chance to shine, to make somethin’ of themselves.
And the Royals, they’re hopin’ to find a star. Someone who can help ’em win games. It’s a gamble, I reckon. You never know who’s gonna be good and who’s gonna bust. Just like plantin’ seeds, you gotta wait and see what sprouts.
But that’s the way it is, this kc royals draft. A big ol’ lottery, pickin’ and choosin’, hopin’ and prayin’. It’s a sight to behold, I tell ya. All them folks, watchin’ and waitin’, to see who gets picked. It’s like the county fair, only with more at stake.
It ain’t like the old days. Used to be, you just played ball. If you was good, you was good. Now, it’s all about this draft, and who picks who. It’s a different world, I tell ya. But I guess that’s progress.

So, that’s the story of the kc royals draft, far as I can tell. A whole lot of hoopla over pickin’ baseball players. But hey, it’s entertainin’, ain’t it? And who knows, maybe one of these young’uns will be the next big star. We’ll just have to wait and see.
