Alright, so yesterday was Kyogre Raid Day, and let me tell you, it was a whirlwind! I started my day with a pretty solid plan – hit up all the gyms in my local area, and hopefully, snag a shiny Kyogre.

First things first, I made sure my phone was fully charged. Then I grabbed my portable charger, just in case – you never know with these events! I also checked my item bag in Pokémon Go. Needed to have enough:
- Premium Raid Passes
- Remote Raid Passes
- Potions
- Revives
I always stock up on resources beforehand.
Round One
I headed out around 1:30 PM, because the event was going on from 2 PM to 5 PM. My usual group of friends couldn’t make it, so I was flying solo for this one. I walked over to my local park, which has a cluster of about five gyms. When I arrived, I noticed a bunch of other players already there, phones in hand, ready to go.
The first raid popped up, and everyone just kind of jumped in. I used my trusty team of Electric and Grass-types. Think a maxed-out Zekrom, a couple of strong Raikou, and a Tangrowth to fill the gaps. The battle was intense! There were about 15 of us, and we managed to take Kyogre down with plenty of time to spare.
Catching it was another story, The first few throws, the circle was large! and those premier balls, I have no idea where they were going! I used Golden Razz Berries and tried my best with curveballs, but that slippery sea monster kept breaking free. Finally, on my second-to-last ball, I landed a “Great” throw, and bam! Got it! No shiny, but a decent IV Kyogre, so I was happy.

The Grind Continues
I repeated this process for the next few hours. I walked around, joined different raid groups, and battled a whole bunch of Kyogre. My thumbs were starting to ache by the third hour! I also joined a couple of remote raids, which was cool, because I needed to take a break from the crazy weather.
I ran into a few familiar faces, and we even teamed up for a few raids, which made things go a lot smoother. Sharing tips, coordinating attacks – it’s always more fun with a group.
The Final Tally
By 5 PM, I was exhausted. But I managed to do around 18 raids, which I think is a pretty decent haul. Out of all those Kyogre, unfortunately, no shiny. I am a little bummed out by that, because I’ve seen others got it.
Even though I didn’t get the shiny, I still had a blast. Raid Days are always a good excuse to get outside, meet other players, and, of course, catch some awesome Pokémon. Now, I’m just gonna chill and maybe trade some of those extra Kyogre with my friends later. Fingers crossed one of them has a spare shiny!
