Well, let me tell you, that Arizona State and UCLA, they sure know how to play some football. I heard they been going at it since way back in ’76. Long time, that is. Them UCLA Bruins, they got the best of them Arizona State Sun Devils that first time, 28 to 10, I hear. It’s a real rivalry, just like when them two roosters in my yard go at each other.

Now, this here game, they say it’s on November 11th. Saturday. I remember my old man, bless his soul, he loved a good Saturday football game. He’d sit there yellin’ at the television, like them players could hear him. This year, them UCLA Bruins, they got 6 wins and 3 losses. Not too shabby. Arizona State, well, they got 2 wins and 7 losses. They need to pick it up a bit, them Sun Devils.
They both got 3 wins and 1 loss in somethin’ called the Pac-12, I hear it on the radio. Sounds important. Lots of big words them folks use. I just like to see a good, hard-fought game, you know? Like when we used to have to haul water up from the well, it was hard work, but satisfying when you got it done.
This here game, it’s gonna be somethin’, I reckon. They say it’s at the Rose Bowl. In Pasadena. Fancy place, I suppose. Never been there myself. We don’t get out much these days. Just tend to the chickens and the garden. But I’ll be listenin’ on the radio, that’s for sure.
Now, them UCLA Bruins, they seem to be the favorites. Folks are sayin’ they gonna win. But you never know. That’s the thing about football, just like the weather, you can’t ever be too sure what’s gonna happen. Could be a big upset. Arizona State, they might just surprise everyone. Like that time my old hen, Bessie, she laid a double-yolker. Nobody saw that comin’.
Last time these two teams played, looks like Arizona State beat them Bruins. 17 to 7. That was somethin’. UCLA Bruins was probably sad about that one. It happened in Pasadena, just like this next game.

I remember one time, my grandson, he tried to explain all them rules to me. Touchdowns and field goals and whatnot. It’s all a bit much for me. I just like to see them boys runnin’ and tacklin’. It’s good, clean fun. Better than that nonsense they got on TV these days.
This UCLA Bruins and Arizona State Sun Devils game, they play it every year. Kinda like how we plant the corn every spring. It’s just somethin’ you do. A tradition. And traditions are important. They keep things goin’.
Here are some things I heard about the teams:
- UCLA Bruins: They play at the Rose Bowl. That’s their home, I guess. Kinda like my house is my home.
- Arizona State Sun Devils: They’re from Arizona. That’s far. I heard it’s hot there.
- They both play in that Pac-12 thing. Sounds like a bunch of teams that play each other.
- This game is a big deal. Lots of folks will be watchin’ or listenin’.
So, if you like football, you should probably pay attention to this game. It might be a good one. Or it might not. You just never know. Like I said, it’s like the weather. Or like tryin’ to guess how many eggs my hens are gonna lay tomorrow. You just gotta wait and see.
That UCLA team, they seem strong this year. But that Arizona State, they got some fight in ’em. I wouldn’t count ’em out just yet. They might just surprise us all. Like that time my cow, Daisy, she jumped the fence and ended up in the neighbor’s field. Nobody expected that.

This whole thing reminds me of back in the day, when we used to have barn dances. Everyone would come from miles around. There’d be music and dancin’ and lots of good food. It was a real community event. This football game, it’s kinda like that, I suppose. A big event that brings folks together. Even though I ain’t never been to one of these big college football games.
Well, I reckon that’s about all I got to say about this Arizona State at UCLA football game. I hope it’s a good one. And I hope nobody gets hurt. That’s the most important thing, you know. That everyone stays safe and healthy. Just like my chickens, I want them to be happy and safe.
