Okay, so I had this random idea pop into my head the other day: “How far is it to Albuquerque?” Don’t ask me why, it just happened. So, I figured, why not turn this into a little project? I mean, might as well make it interesting, right?
First thing I did was open up my browser. I mean, that’s where everyone starts, yeah?
I typed in something like, “distance to albuquerque”. I needed some data for this experiment.
Then, I started playing around, figuring I’d track the whole process.
Experimenting
- Step 1: The Basic Search I simply wanted to find the starting point.
- Step 2: Finding a friend I needed a friend who I could test the distance with, I called him.
- Step 3: Pinpoint my friend I had to find my friend and asked him his current position.
- Step 4: Calculate! I calculated the distance from my friend’s house to Albuquerque.
It was pretty satisfying to see the whole thing. And hey, I figured someone else might get a kick out of the random journey, so I’m sharing it here. Just a little slice of my day, messing around and seeing what happens.
