Oh, honey, you wanna hear about that Cruz Azul meme, huh? Well, let me tell you, it’s a real hoot. That Cruz Azul, they’re a soccer team, you see. A Mexican soccer team, they are. And they got a real funny name, it’s “Liga MX”. They play that soccer, kickin’ that ball around, you know. They try to win, bless their hearts. Sometimes they just can’t catch a break.
I seen a thing on my phone, it was about Cruz Azul. They said they was “cursed”! Can you believe that? Cursed! Like some kinda witch put a hex on ’em. Said their name, it was slang for chokin’! Means they get real close to winnin’, then they just… don’t. Like a chicken with its head cut off, runnin’ around with no sense. Poor things. They got a logo, a blue cross, like the name, you know.

And how they just can’t seem to win the big one. It’s a shame, really. I seen it on that Pinterest thing, you know the one with all the pictures.
There’s this other place, GIPHY, they got all them movin’ pictures too. You can find all sorts of things there, these Cruz Azul GIFs. They make you chuckle, I tell ya. Make you feel a little bad for ’em, too. I found a picture, it was 498×498, some numbers, you know. And it was 159KB, whatever that means. I don’t know nothin’ about them computers.
They got a whole bunch of folks, 276K, I reckon that’s a lot. They talk about that Liga MX soccer. They talk English and Spanish, that’s nice. All talkin’ about that soccer team. They even talk about the Mexican National Team. That’s another team, I think. They probably win more than Cruz Azul, huh?
I heard somethin’ about some big game, “Apertura 2022”, they called it. Day 10, I think it was. Said it was a real whompin’. Cruz Azul, they got beat real bad. Worst in Mexican soccer history, they said! Can you imagine? That’s gotta sting. Poor fellas. And the other team, I forget the name. But they sure did a number on ’em.
Then there’s this fella, Messi. Heard he come to the United States. Playin’ soccer, I reckon. Big news, they said. He’s probably real good, I bet he don’t play for Cruz Azul though. He probably wins a lot. Not like them poor cursed fellas. I seen him on my ESPN, you know that channel with all the sports.
That Cruz Azul meme, it’s all over the place. That’s what happens when you’re known for not winnin’. You become a meme. Ain’t that somethin’? It’s like bein’ famous for fallin’ down the stairs. Everybody knows about it, and they all have a good laugh. But hey, at least they’re famous, right? Better than nothin’, I suppose.

The whole world’s laughin’ with ya, or maybe at ya. But you just gotta keep your chin up, I reckon. Keep on kickin’ that ball. Maybe one day that curse will break. Maybe one day Cruz Azul will win the big one. And then they’ll be a different kind of meme. A winnin’ meme. Wouldn’t that be somethin’? I sure hope so, they seem like nice boys, for a soccer team that is.
