This Ducati 749, it’s a motorcycle, you know? A real fancy one. I seen pictures. It’s all covered up, not like them old bikes with everything hanging out. This one, they call it fully faired. Sounds important, don’t it?
They made these bikes from 2003 to 2006. Not for very long. Must be somethin’ special about ’em, right? That engine, now that’s a thing. They call it a V-twin, and it’s got these fancy valves, Desmo-somethin’. I don’t know what that means, but it sounds expensive. Bet it makes a heck of a noise when it gets goin’.
Ducati 749, Fast or Not?
Now, I heard some folks say them early ones, the 2003 and 2004 Ducati 749, they ain’t so fast. They say some other bike, a Suzuki somethin’ 600, is faster. Can you believe that? This Ducati, all fancy lookin’, and it ain’t even the fastest.
But then they got this other one, the Ducati 749 ‘S’. That’s the one you want, I reckon. They say it’s got a better engine, this Testastretta thing. It came out in 2005, and it’s got more power. Still not as fast as a Suzuki 750 if you know how to ride it, they say. Lots of power in that S one. And torque. Whatever that is.
They say the ‘S’ is better, you know, in all the years they made it. More power, more go. If you’re gonna get a Ducati 749, that’s the one you want, I guess. If you’re into that sort of thing, going real fast on two wheels.
What’s so Special About a Ducati 749?
Well, for one, it’s a Ducati. That means somethin’, I guess. Like them fancy cars, you know? This one, the Ducati 749, it’s a sport bike. Made for goin’ fast, leanin’ into them turns. I seen ’em on the TV, racin’ around. Looks scary, but kinda fun, too. The Ducati 749 looks real good in pictures. I seen a bunch of ’em online.
It’s got that engine, that V-twin. I don’t know much about engines, but I know that’s a good one. They used to put it in racin’ bikes, I heard. And them valves, the Desmo-somethin’ ones. They’re special, too. Make the engine run better, they say.

Ducati 749, Is it Worth it?
Well, that depends, don’t it? If you got the money, and you like goin’ fast, then maybe. It ain’t cheap, a Ducati 749. But it’s a nice bike. Looks good, sounds good, I bet. If you get that ‘S’ version, you’ll be goin’ pretty fast, too. I heard a lot of people talkin’ ’bout that ‘S’ one.
But if you’re just lookin’ for somethin’ to get around on, this ain’t it. This is a fancy bike, a Ducati 749. It’s for showin’ off, and for goin’ fast. It ain’t for goin’ down to the store to get some milk. If you like to go fast, the Ducati 749 is a good bike, especially the S.
Riding a Ducati 749
Now, I ain’t never ridden one of these Ducati 749 bikes. But I seen ’em. And I heard ’em. They’re loud. And they go fast. You gotta know what you’re doin’, ridin’ one of these. You can’t just hop on and go. They say you gotta be careful. Especially on that S version.
You gotta lean into them turns, they say. And you gotta know how to use that throttle. That’s the thing that makes it go. Too much, and you’ll be in trouble. Not enough, and you won’t be goin’ anywhere. It takes practice, ridin’ a Ducati 749, I reckon. It’s a powerful bike, they say.
If you want to ride a Ducati 749, you need to know what you are doin’. If you are just startin’ out, this ain’t the bike for you. This ain’t a bike for beginners. You gotta learn how to ride first, then you can get a Ducati 749. But you be careful. They’re fast. They say it’s a lot of fun, though.
