Okay, so I’ve been trying to get a handle on converting kilograms to pounds, mostly because I’m tracking my weight loss and some fitness stuff I’m following uses pounds. I was 69kg, and I wanted to know what that was in pounds. Here’s how I went about it.

Figuring Out the Conversion
First, I needed to know the basic conversion factor. I couldn’t remember it off the top of my head, So I searched it.
- I searched the conversion factor.
- I Found the conversion factor.
It turns out that 1 kilogram is roughly equal to 2.20462 pounds. Good to know!
Doing the Math
Next, I needed to actually do the calculation. I grabbed my phone’s calculator – super handy for this kind of thing.
- I opened up the calculator app.
- I typed in my weight in kilograms, which was 69.
- I multiplied that number by 2.20462 (the conversion factor).
I got 152.11878.
Rounding It Off
Of course, I do not need all those decimal places. I’m not a lab experiment! I decided to round it to one decimal place, Because that’s a nice, clean number and gives me enough precision for what I need.

- I looked at the number after the first decimal place (which was 1).
- Since it was less than 5, I just kept the first decimal place as it was.
So, 69kg is about 152.1 lbs.
That’s how i did it from start to finish!
