2018 BMW RR 1000: Still a Great Bike? (Pros & Cons Listed)

Okay, so I finally got my hands on a 2018 BMW S1000RR. Man, this thing is a beast! I’ve been dreaming about this bike for ages, and let me tell you, the reality did not disappoint. Here’s how it all went down.

2018 BMW RR 1000: Still a Great Bike? (Pros & Cons Listed)

The Hunt

First, I spent weeks, maybe even months, scouring online listings. I checked every possible website, forum, and classified ad. I was looking for a used one, in good condition, and of course, at a price that wouldn’t totally bankrupt me. It was a real treasure hunt, lots of dead ends, and bikes that were either too beat up or way overpriced.

The Find

Finally, I stumbled upon this beauty. A private seller, a few hours away, had a 2018 model with relatively low mileage. The pictures looked amazing. I immediately contacted the guy, and we chatted for a while. He seemed legit, and he knew his stuff about the bike.

The Test Ride

I drove down there with a buddy (always good to have a second opinion). When I saw the bike in person, my heart skipped a beat. It was even better than the pictures! I gave it a thorough inspection, checking the tires, brakes, chain, everything. Then came the best part – the test ride. I hopped on, fired up the engine, and… wow. The power was insane! I took it for a spin, carefully at first, then I opened it up a bit. The acceleration, the handling, the sound… it was pure adrenaline.

The Deal

After the test ride, I was sold. We negotiated the price a bit, and finally shook hands on a deal. It was a bit more than I initially planned to spend, but honestly, it was worth it. This bike was pristine.

Bringing it Home

Getting it home was another adventure. We loaded it up onto my buddy’s truck, strapped it down super tight, and drove back slowly and carefully. I was practically sweating the whole way, worried about something happening to my new baby.

  • make sure it’s tie down and secured
  • drive slow.

First Real Ride

The next day, I took it out for a proper ride. I hit some twisty roads, leaned into the corners, and really felt the bike come alive. It’s a completely different experience than any other bike I’ve ridden. It’s precise, powerful, and just exhilarating.

Living the Dream

Since then, I’ve been riding it every chance I get. I’ve joined a local riding group, gone on some weekend trips, and even considered taking it to a track day. This bike has totally reignited my passion for riding. I’m still learning its nuances, and I’m definitely respecting its power, but man, am I having fun!

So for me this thing is not only a bike,It’s one of my dream, that came true.
