I’ve seen lots of posts lately asking “how can we make blog titles grab attention?” So I dug through my analytics and found something wild – posts structured as “question + value” got 3x more clicks than my regular ones. Time to test this myself!

Here’s exactly what I did today
Grabbed my coffee at 7 AM and opened old draft titled “Morning Productivity Tips”. Flat as yesterday’s soda. Changed it to: “Why Do Top CEOs Start Work at 4AM? (+3 Science-Backed Benefits)”. Already felt punchier just typing it!
Wrote the post super simple:
- First paragraph just answered the dang question straight: “They don’t actually. Study shows only 1% do”
- Second section broke down real science stuff from Harvard study in dumb terms
- Third part gave actual alarm clock tricks I tried last Tuesday
Published at lunchtime then literally sat there refreshing stats like a crazy person. First hour? Meh. By 3PM? Shared 28 times already! Normally my stuff gets like 5 shares.
Why this actually worked
Almost ditched this experiment last month. See, my cousin Eddy runs that knockoff watch shop downtown? He begged me to write “10 Luxury Watches Under $50” last winter. Posted it normal way – crickets. Republished as “Can Fake Rolexes Look Real? (How I Fooled My Boss at Christmas Party)” and traffic exploded. Even Eddy sold three extra watches!
That’s when it clicked: people want answers to dumb questions they’re too embarrassed to ask. The “value” part is just bait to make them feel less guilty about clicking!

Tomorrow I’m rewriting all my old garden posts. “Do Talking Plants Really Work? (My Tomatoes Called Me Fat Last Summer)” should scare up some clicks!
